**BLOG TOUR STOP** Emerge by S.E. Hall

Laney Walker is a quick witted, athletic, southern tomboy who lets few get too close, using her sarcastic zingers to deflect. She also has no idea how others view her, Evan having protected and coveted her since they were children. But college puts a gap between Laney and Evan that neither of them were prepared for- old relationships are tested, new ones are formed and nothing will ever be the same.

Especially when in walks one Dane Kendrick, not at all the familiar, southern charmer of home, but an animal all his own.

A story of growing up, friendship, loyalty, first love, primal love...and life.

Warning: Mature content.

2 CHICKS AND A BLOG REVIEW OF EMERGE

5 OUT OF 5 STARS !

Emerge is the story of a young woman Laney, who's a bit of a softball playing Tom-boy, that happens to fall in love with her best friend, Evan, star football player.  Evan and Laney have been two peas in a pod since the age of 10 and that all changed when they fall in love their senior year of high school.  When Laney doesn't get accepted to the college that her and Evan have dreamed of for so long, that's when the story takes a turn for the worse.

Evan goes off to the college of their dreams while Laney is stuck at a local college still close to their original stomping grounds.  Trying to keep their relationship going will be tough and they vow to remain best friends.

Laney is embarking on a journey, far away from the comfort of Evan and her best friend Kaitlin, and trying to make the best of it. Laney's roommate in the dorms helps ease her out her shell by taking her to a sort of mixer in the dorms, where Laney meets a group of fun loving guys.  Laney becomes close with Dane, one of those fun loving guys.

Slowly but surely, the relationship that Laney and Evan tried to preserve gets pushed to the ultimate test.  Can their life long love survive the damages that have been caused?

Finding out information that could have changed the course for the rest of Laney's life, can she get over the hurt?  Can she choose between Evan and her new beau, Dane?

Who will win the ultimate prize, Evan or Dane?

This book was a little slow in the beginning.  The plot was there but it did take a while before things got to a "I can't put this down" portion.  But once it did, it wasn't leaving my hands.  Laney is a bit whiney.  Evan and Dane are both sympathetic to the circumstances of their relationship with the Heroine.  There is plenty of drama, to make this book a MUST READ.  It has all the basis to make this a wonderful love story and a love story gone wrong. Someone has to loose.

The author used songs throughout the book, which was a great touch.  It made the scenes more memorable and set a tone for the impending angst.  It was well appreciated.

The Prologue was WONDERFUL.  It set the book up and showcased how the relationship between Laney and Evan progressed to it's current state.  It was very much appreciated.  The Prologue reminded me of a song that I love dearly and while reading it, the song just popped in my head.  Tim McGraw "Don't Take the Girl".
