Well let me just say, I am in LOVE with this book! I did read Gemini (Penelope's first novel) and it was good, but this book ... this book is GREAT! I loved the dynamic between Jake and Nina. From the very first encounter, I felt a connection and the tension .. HOLY HELL the tension!!!

These two characters are messed up in their own ways, making life more difficult than it is for the average Joe. Nina has phobias coming out of the WAZOO and Jake wants to help her through them. Little does he realize that while he's helping Nina overcome fears, he's freeing himself of his own insecurities.

There were a few times while I was reading that I had to go back and was like "uhhhh did I miss something?" but then BAM it smacked me in my face when I realized that Penelope was playing tricks with my mind. Hmmmm this author knows how to throw a twist!

At the end of the story, I couldn't be happier. Everything I wanted was served to me on a sliver platter. Jake remained the sweet loving person he had been the entire book and Nina, well, that girl has the strength of an army. I love my hero's strong and alpha and my heroines strong and feminine.

This story had everything. Ups, downs, twists, turns, angst and STEAMY sex scenes.

I'm going to go ahead and give this book 4.5 out of 5 "batshit crazy" stars.

Please be advised I only deducted .5 stars for a few things that turned me off. Nothing too heavy, just personal opinion. Over all this book was great! I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a sexy tattooed boy and a girl that doesn't know she's beautiful!!!

Penelope Ward grew up in Boston with five older brothers. She spent most of her twenties as a television news anchor, before switching to a more family friendly career. Penelope lives for reading books in the new adult genre, coffee and hanging out with her friends and family on weekends. She is the proud mother of a beautiful 9-year-old girl with autism (the inspiration for the character Callie in Gemini) and a 7-year-old boy, both of whom are the lights of her life. Penelope, her husband and kids reside in Rhode Island.
